The hospice is throwing down the gauntlet once again for teams to compete in our It’s a Knockout fundraising event.
The event is coming to Barnsley for the second year running – complete with giant inflatables, foam and thousands of litres of water.
It’s a Knockout takes place at Locke Park on Sunday August 4, with all proceeds going towards patient care. The 2018 event raised £16,500 with 26 teams taking part.
Simon Atkinson, fundraiser at the hospice, said: “We had an enormous amount of fun last year – every person I spoke to just thought it was such a laugh. We raised a fantastic amount of money and plenty of teams promised to compete again in 2019, so bringing it back was a no-brainer.
“I’m sure, like me, there are many people old enough to remember It’s a Knockout on TV and how much fun it looked, so why not join us to do it for real and raise funds for a great cause at the same time?”
The event is organised by a professional events company which has been running It’s a Knockout for over 30 years. Teams must be made up of eight to ten people and are asked to raise a minimum of £500. All entrants must be 16 or over.
Simon added: “It’s a Knockout is brilliant for team-building, whether that’s friends and family, or workmates, so start gathering your teams together. You don’t have to be at the peak of fitness either – all you need is a sense of fun!”
