Second Hand September is an annual campaign encouraging people to reduce clothing waste, shop second hand over fast fashion and help the planet.
Our Retail Hub is a one-stop shop for preloved clothing, bargain furniture items, rare vintage pieces, and everything in between! We are dedicated to promoting sustainable shopping and making people think differently about buying second hand clothing.
Throughout the month, we will be sharing information about sustainable fashion on our Retail Hub Facebook and Instagram pages. The team will also be divulging their best second hand styling tips, and we’ll be speaking to some of our regular customers about why they enjoy shopping at the Retail Hub.
If you don’t live close to the Retail Hub, our Vinted site is filled with items that you can purchase in support of the hospice from the comfort of your own home. It couldn’t be easier!
If you are starting or returning to college this September, we are excited to hold a pop-up Retail Hub shop at Barnsley College throughout Freshers Week (11-15 September). We’ll have rails of branded and vintage items to purchase and raise vital funds to support Barnsley Hospice. Spread the word if you know any students who will be attending!
How can I get involved?
Shop
Our hub is full of amazing pre-loved items, including menswear, ladieswear and children’s clothes. There’s also a fitting room available in-store so you can try on clothes before you buy.
Plus, every purchase you make at the Retail Hub helps to support the specialist palliative and end of life care Barnsley Hospice provides to local people.
Donate
We all love a good clearout, so next time you’re tackling your overflowing wardrobe, please consider dropping your donations off at our Retail Hub. Doing so helps to prevent clothes from ending up in landfill, and provides stock to fill our shop floor and generate funds for the hospice. It’s a win, win!
Where can you find us?
The Barnsley Hospice Retail Hub is located on the Fall Bank Industrial Estate, Dodworth, S75 3LS. We’re open Monday – Saturday, 9 am to 4 pm. We have free parking too!
