Hospice Retail Hub opens ‘curated’ area to showcase sustainable fashion
Calling all fashion lovers! Barnsley Hospice has opened a brand-new curated area within its Retail Hub in Dodworth, designed to showcase the rare and unique pre-loved items for sale.
The new area, known as Rotation @ The Hub, features trend, vintage, high-street and designer pieces – suitable for all styles and budgets. The team has created this new area to promote the benefits of shopping sustainably and appeal to a new demographic of customers, whilst changing some of the misconceptions about charity shopping.
Ella Beale, Marketing and Communications Manager at Barnsley Hospice said: “Since our Retail Hub opened three years ago, we have seen it go from strength to strength and we want to continue reaching new customers who have yet to discover the joys of shopping second hand.
“We hope that new and existing customers will check out Rotation @ The Hub and see for themselves that shopping sustainably doesn’t mean compromising on style!”
December marked three years since the Barnsley Hospice Retail Hub, based in Dodworth, first opened its doors and in this time, it has raised over £340,000 in profit to support the specialist care provided at the hospice.
Martine Tune, Chief Executive Officer and Chief Nurse at Barnsley Hospice explains the importance of raising funds for the hospice.
“We are delighted to launch Rotation @ The Hub as part of our ongoing plans to develop and sustain our finances.
“Our retail hub is a vital part of raising funds for the hospice, and every item bought or donated helps us to continue caring for the people of Barnsley.”
Rotation @ The Hub was officially opened by the Mayor of Barnsley on Wednesday 24 January, and is located at the Barnsley Hospice Retail Hub on the Fall Bank Industrial Estate in Dodworth.
