Barnsley Hospice Celebrates 30th Anniversary with Retail Hub Pop-Up Shop

To celebrate the hospice’s 30th anniversary year, the Barnsley Hospice Retail Hub has officially launched an exclusive pop-up shop at the Alhambra Shopping Centre in Barnsley.  For one week only, the shop opened yesterday on Monday, 24 June, and will run to Sunday, 30 June 2024.

Shoppers can expect a curated selection of vintage pieces, pre-loved bags, shoes, and furniture, providing an opportunity for sustainable shopping while supporting an important local cause. Funds raised from the pop-up shop will directly benefit local charity Barnsley Hospice, which delivers specialist palliative and end of life care to local individuals living with a life-limiting illness, and their loved ones.

Simon Lindley, Retail Operations Manager for Barnsley Hospice Retail Hub, said, “We are thrilled that the Alhambra Shopping Centre has generously offered us this space to celebrate Barnsley Hospice’s 30th anniversary. Our pop-up shop, much like our Retail Hub in Dodworth, will offer a fantastic array of vintage pieces, high-street favourites, pre-loved bags, shoes, and furniture.”

He added, “Every purchase made at our pop-up shop directly supports care that Barnsley Hospice provides for our local community.

“The day we launch the pop-up shop marks 30 years since the hospice first opened its doors, and I can’t think of a better way to celebrate with our local community.”  

Located to the left of the escalators, near the front lower-level entrance and directly across from the Perfume Shop, the Hospice Retail Hub Pop-up Shop promises a unique shopping experience for the Barnsley community. Opening hours will be from 9 am to 4 pm Monday 24 June to Saturday 29 June, and 10 am to 4 pm on Sunday 30 June.

Barnsley Hospice relies on community fundraising efforts to raise two-thirds of its annual running costs on average, ensuring the people of Barnsley continue to benefit from the provision of its essential services. The Hospice Retail Hub Pop-up shop at the Alhambra Shopping Centre presents a great opportunity for people to raise vital funds for the charity and bag a bargain in the process.
