Ian’s Mum spent the last three weeks of her life in Barnsley Hospice. He has since raised thousands for our charity in thanks for the ‘love, attention and care’ she received.
“My mum, Vera Meade, spent the last three weeks of her 97-year life in the hospice. The love, attention and care she received went beyond extraordinary, and I will never be able to thank the hospice and its staff enough for this.
In the ensuing years, I have personally, and through my running club Barnsley Harriers, raised many thousands through various initiatives, and I am pleased to have done so. I know that my mum would be truly thankful that this had happened. In some small way, by helping others, I trust I have repaid all the kindness, care and consideration she received at the end of her life.”
