We are so proud to announce that our annual Rudolph Run has raised an incredible £30,000, which will help us to continue providing specialist palliative care for people living with a life-limiting illness across Barnsley, as well as those important to them.
The Barnsley Hospice Rudolph Run, sponsored by White’s Bakery, saw nearly 7,000 children dress like reindeer and raise money for the hospice. Throughout December, 27 schools, nurseries and community groups took part in a sponsored walk or run as part of this festive fundraiser.
David White of White’s Bakery, the kind sponsors of our Rudolph Run, announced, “We are absolutely delighted to hear the wonderful amount that Barnsley Hospice Rudolph Run has raised. It has been a pleasure to sponsor such a great event and give back to our local hospice – we could not have hoped for a better outcome.”
The fundraiser is a much-loved festive addition to many calenders throughout the borough, and we are pleased to have been able to run this safely again this year.
Barnsley Hospice Community Fundraiser Vicky Stead said, “We began promoting the event back in September when we visited every primary school in Barnsley dressed as reindeer. Our 2021 Rudolph Run was by far the biggest we have done, and we are overwhelmed by everyone’s support.”
Our thanks go to our sponsors, White’s Bakery, whose contribution meant we could provide an event that was bigger and better than ever. We would also like to say a big thank you to all the children who took part, everyone who donated so generously, and the organisers of each Rudolph Run.
Because you care, we can.
