Katie joined the Board of Trustees in November 2024 after serving as a specialist advisor to the Board.
Having a strong background in Healthcare, Katie has experience in navigating complex systems, building strong teams and helping to make informed, strategic decisions.
As well as spending time in the outdoors with her young family, Katie is also in the final stages of studying for her Master’s in Health and Care Leadership.
Katie says, “Becoming a trustee for Barnsley is something I feel truly passionate about. I’m from Barnsley and proud of my South Yorkshire roots. After a long career in the NHS, now as a director, I’ve seen just how essential compassionate, end-of-life care is. Several members of my family have been supported by the hospice over the years, and I feel privileged to give back to an organisation that has meant so much to us.”
